Sad movies always make me cry 
  He said he had to work so I 
  went to the show alone 
  They turned down the lights 
  and turned the projector on 
  And just as the news of the 
  world started to begin 
  I saw my darling and 
  my best friend walking in 

슬픈 영화는 언제나 나를 울리게 하지 
  그는 말했지 그는 일해야 한다고 해서 
  나 혼자서 영화를 보러갔지. 
불이 꺼지고 영사기가 돌아가기 시작했지 
그리고 세계뉴스가 시작되었을 때 
  나의 애인과 나의 제일 친한 친구가 함께 
  걸어 들어오는 것을 보았지.

  They didn't see and so they 
  sat right down in front of me 
  And he kissed her lips I almost died 
  And in the middle of the color cartoon

그래서 극장을 나온 나는 천천히 집으로 갔어 
  그리고 엄마는 내 눈물을 본 거야. 
그리곤 무슨 일이냐? 
나는 엄마에게 거짓말을 하지는 못하고 
  이렇게 대답했지 
'슬픈 영화는 나를 울려요'
